Our Prayer

Our Prayer

Heavenly Father, I know that I have sinned against You and that my sins separate me from You. I am truly sorry. I now want to turn away from my sinful past and turn to You for forgiveness. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that Your Son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins, that He was raised from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become my Savior and the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You and to convict me when I sin. I pledge to grow in grace and knowledge of You. My greatest purpose in life is to follow Your example and do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Class Lesson February 27, 2011

Hey Gang,

Well, this is our final lesson from the book of Hosea and hasn't it been filled with some soul searching truths? The song I played last week I'd like for you to listen and watch once again, because it certainly set's the tone for this week's truth as well. Click on the link below to watch:

Our lesson this week opened with this quote, "God is at home, it's we who have gone out for a walk." - Meister Eckhart

What do you think Thomas Wolfe meant when he said, "You Can't Go Home Again?"

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me;
see, on the portals He's waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.
Come home, come home; ye who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

Thank God that even when we sin and consequently pull away from God, we can come home, again. Hosea's message to Israel is the same message to us today. God loves us with an outrageous kind of love. You can't do anything bad enough for Him to love you less and you can't do anything good enough for Him to love you more. We want His forgiveness, He wants our loyalty - that's pretty simple isn't it? God loves to welcome us home!

God's final message this week through Hosea is to Get Honest (14:1-3), Get Growing (14:4-7), and Get Smart (14:8-9). We are going to open this lesson Sunday with a message from Rob Bell called "Lump." Watch a brief intro of the video below:

I can't wait for this closing message God gives you and me through Hosea this Sunday, please don't miss it!

Have a blessed rest of the week and I'll see you on Sunday.

In His Love,

David & Susan
